It’s hard to believe the holidays are almost here!  This holiday season I’ve been looking for nature-inspired, activity-oriented gifts for kids.  My little one is almost 4 and it’s really fun to see her interest in nature develop. Plus, there is a lot of research and writing on the benefit of nature for our health and well-being.

So with that in mind here are a few gift ideas for the little ones on your list.

Heirloom Wood Flower Press from Gardeners Supply Company

I love heading out on nature walks with my daughter and she is always picking up flower, twigs, leaves and the like for her “nature collection”.  This press is a great way to preserve those great finds and build an activity out of a fun nature walk.

Books are such great gifts!  This one is full activities and observations to spur your little one’s interest in nature.  With great reviews and great pictures, this one is already in my shopping cart.

Kitchen Garden Seed Starting Kit from Terrain

Kids love watching things grow!  So simple, and truly satisfying;  just plant some seeds, water, watch them grow and enjoy delicious herbs.  A great way to help understand the food cycle and broaden their palates.  Some of these herbs can remain on the kitchen counter, while others would be destined for planting outside come Spring.

Happy Holidays!
