The owners of this home in Charlestown’s historic neighborhood wanted walk out access from their basement to their enclosed yard. They also wanted a deck off of their newly renovated kitchen that would connect to the yard.
Through a major house renovation, large sliding doors were installed on the rear facade of the house and brick retaining walls allowed for a below grade landing off of the new doors. Brick and bluestone steps lead from this landing to a generous bluestone patio at grade level. A small deck is surrounded by an iron railing, with an iron staircase that connects to the patio. A new fence surrounds the yard and includes built in storage for trash.
