With all of this time at home, it helps to have a list of shows to dive into on a Saturday night. Here are a few of my favorite design/travel/lifestyle related shows for your home viewing!
“The World’s Most Extraordinary Homes” is an awesome architecture/travel show that spans the world to explore interesting and innovative private homes. The two hosts, British architect Piers Taylor and actress Caroline Quentin, have such a fun and funny rapport. My favorite episodes go to Norway, New Zealand and Japan. This show helps you feel like you’re exploring the world, even if you’re confined to your home for a while!
“Salt Fat Acid Heat” is a trip around the world with chef Samin Nosrat, James Beard Award winning author of the cookbook (of the same name). She goes to Japan, Italy, Mexico and California to explore the role of these 4 fundamental aspects of cooking. The book is a must read if you like to cook, with rich stories of food and cooking and real science to explain what works. If you love to cook, travel, eat or just love stunning scenery, the Netflix series will be right up your alley.
“Maine Cabin Masters” is a DIY Network favorite of my husbands and I have to say I’m hooked too. I love everything about Maine and this show has a small team of builders that travel the state to renovate and restore traditional Maine “camps”. The scenery is fantastic and their design solutions are often very practical and innovative. With multiple seasons going back a few years, this show can keep the cabin enthusiast busy for a while!
I hope you enjoy some of these shows while sticking close to home and staying healthy!
